April turned out to be a busy month for us but we still managed to make time for our loved programmes and even found some new ones. We also flew to Orlando for a 2 week holiday and got to see some new stuff on the flight which is always good. We managed to binge watch a whole new series and start on the next one. Let’s check out what we watched this month…
Marvels Jessica Jones
While I have watched a couple of Marvel films and like a good superhero story I hadn’t fallen into the fan zone like some others. While searching through Netflix for a new series to binge on, we stumbled on Jessica Jones. A stubborn investigator who has a past she would rather forget, it comes back to frighten her and the story unfolds. The series is great and really took us by surprise, the episodes are lengthy with full of action.
Santa Clarita Diet
Finally, we got the release of the 2nd series of one of our most loved programmes and it did not let us down. Santa Clarita Diet has a great cast and an even better story with plenty of humour thrown in. We absolutely loved the first series and the second really did keep the hype going. This is perfect if you are looking for something different with a little humour too.
The Money Heist
This was actually recommended by a few people with strict instructions to watch it in Spanish with English subtitles. The show is originally Spanish and so is a better experience to watch it in Spanish. The show is amazing, we are currently 5 episodes in and are loving it. It has plenty of layers to the story and the characters are all interesting in their own way. Don’t let the language barrier deter you, it is worth watching.
The Greatest Showman
I finally got the chance to watch The Greatest Showman on the flight from Manchester to Orlando. From beginning to end was an absolute delight, so much I am hoping it is on the plane to watch on the way home. I loved everything from the cast, the story and the songs, it was the greatest show. My sister has been nagging me to go see it and I can see why she was so passionate about it.
While this is an oldie, it is also a goodie. Matilda is a big film geek even at 18months old, she has been a fan of Trolls, Frozen and her latest film is Monsters Inc. This was one of Frankie’s favourites when he was younger and so it is nice to dig it back out for Matilda. Monster’s Inc is a family film with friendly monsters and witty comedy for the grown-ups. I personally love watching Monster’s Inc and so glad that we have another fan in the family. If you haven’t seen it check it out and then watch the sequel/prequel is called Monsters University and that is also a great film.
The Wizard Of Oz
Bella is our movie girl, her and her mum love to sit and watch films together. Whether they are new, old or just something they found, they watch it. Bella loves singing and dancing so there is no surprise that she has fallen in love with her mums favourite The Wizard Of Oz.
If you haven’t seen this film by now I don’t know what kind of life you are living but it’s rubbish. The is one of the greatest films of all time and every child should see it, no matter how old the film is now. There is singing, dancing, beautiful costumes and whimsical characters to fall in love with.
As always, we’d love to know what you’ve been watching this month in the comments below… We might even watch something you recommend and feature it in next months segment.
