The Lion King was originally released in 1994, I was 2 years old. However, I didn’t watch the film until it came out on VHS (remember those?). By 1996 my mum had banned the film in our house due to the fact I was in uncontrollable fits of tears at the death of Mufasa. Every. Single. Time.
This month, 25 years since the original release and The Lion King is making a come back in cinemas worldwide with the release of the live action movie. It features an incredible cast including; Beyonce, the amazing Alfre Woodard and Chiwetel Ejiofor to name a few.
To celebrate its release we were sent two of the new incredible talking teddies. There’s a whole range of different characters in different sizes available (more on that later) however we chose Nala and Timon.
Matilda chose Nala, which is one of the larger plushes on sale in this range at 14″ tall. The other characters in this large 14″ range include; Pumbaa, and Simba.
Nala quickly received a lovely kiss as a welcome. We began pressing on her front paw to hear the different phrases. My personal favourite phrase “I’d rather marry an aardvark” is something I’ve been saying all week now.
While this plush does take two AA batteries these are included so you can begin interacting with the teddy straight away. In Nala’s case that included being strapped into a pushchair and pushed around the garden.
Frankie is the collector of the family. He went for Timon, one of the smaller 8″ plushes which retail for a really reasonable price of just £9.99. The Lion King Live Action characters available in this size include; Pumbaa, Simba and Nala and he’s already on-track to collect them all.
The 9″ plushes require three cell button batteries, once again these are included with this plush so you can begin interacting with the toy straight away.
You can purchase the full range of plushes online at Amazon and Argos as well as other leading retailers.
