Have you booked your family summer holiday yet?
Over the Easter holidays, many of us turn our attention to the next major school holiday, where we plan to spend two weeks of sun-drenched (at least one hopes!) bliss away from the stress of it all. However, holidaying with the family isn’t always easy and just one wrong turn can lead to a nightmare of illnesses that can easily ruin that relaxing holiday you’ve dreamed about so much.
For that reason, I’ve put together a list of our travel essentials…
Hübner’s Silicea Gastro Intestinal Gel
We love trying new foods while travelling abroad, however with that can often come some side-effects. Hübner’s Silicea Gastro Intestinal Gel is designed to help soothe the symptoms of diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.
What we came to love about Hübner’s Silicea Gastro Intestinal Gel were the 15ml sachets which make them the perfect fit for a small first aid bag.
Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen
Developed by skin cancer specialist Dr Andrew Birnie Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen uses some of the most sophisticated filters available including micronised titanium dioxide and Tinosorb A2B.
It is also highly photo-stable, which means its UV filters do not degrade easily in the sun and is suitable for sensitive skins. It feels great on, its non-sticky formula means it absorbs quickly and most importantly, for someone like me who spends 90% of their holiday in a swimming pool… it’s water-resistant.
Helen and I recently came back from Thailand, where 90% of the population is mosquitos (okay, not quite, but it often feels that way).
Luckily, we had on hand Zap-It! A small handheld piezo device, it generates a harmless (no stronger than a gentle pinch) low, electrical impulse when ‘clicked’ against a bite. These ‘zaps’, created by crystals, work to reduce histamine flow and stimulate capillaries into flushing out toxins, thereby stopping the urge to itch and scratch.
Just one Zap-It! is likely to last you a couple of years as a family as it can be used on up to 1,000 bites.
Gin Gins Super Ginger Caramel
If like us you’re looking to book a cruise this year. Then check out Gin Gins Super Ginger Caramel sweets. We’ve covered these in a previous post in more detail, however, they are GREAT for travel sickness which is why we wanted to bring them to your attention once again.
Having never previously been on a cruise, we’ve no idea whether or not we’ll get seasick. So, we’ll be packing a couple of packs of these Gin Gins Super Ginger Caramel sweets just in case!
Vie Recovery Patches
If you’re heading out on a hen-do, stag-weekend or just a heavily holiday with friends then take some Vie Recovery Patches with you and be the saviour on the morning after the night before…
Formulated with essential herbs, vitamins and minerals that will naturally help your body to break down alcohol, Vie Recovery patches use transdermal technology to deliver their active ingredients into the bloodstream through the skin. These include vitamin C, green tea extract, globe artichoke extract, thiamine, taurine and chromium picolinate.
Hübner’s ImmunPRO Infection Blocker
Finally, I’ve got to give a special mention to Hübner’s ImmunPRO Infection Blocker. Recently, I’ve been getting all sorts of different viruses after a flight. However, Hübner’s ImmunPRO Infection Blocker aims to stop that by creating a physical barrier in the mouth and throat against germs and viruses and is ideal for when close contact with other people is unavoidable.
